follow up investigation

Solvability factors: elements of information that have been demonstrated to correlate with higher probabilities of investigative successes
Physical evidence: should be viewed early in the investigation, actually seeing the evidence help get a higher of specific understanding about each itme of evidece as toits appearance, color, weight, damage done to it during the commission the crime modifications to weapons
Vehicle desciption: make, model, color, license plate number all important factors to describing the vehicle.
Investigative plan: show what line of inquiry will be pursued and any special resources needed
Police report: tells what happened at the crime scene and what you saw on patrol
Jail booking report: a report on what a criminal has on him when he is brought into jail
Vehicle impound log: a log to tell what found in the car after seizure
Traffic citations : can link suspects to the vehicles they register and drive
Re- interviewing witneneses: victims or their families should be notified beforehand. Be sure you ask the question to show clearly what you are trying to get out of them.
Leads: some are good and some dry holes. A good one is a lead that get you information that helped with the case. A dry lead is a lead that ends up being a dead end.
Data bases: Iafis- fingerprints and mugshots, j-net- on police laptops, nfpa- fire arms
j-net: used to look up a certain person that is suspected of a crime
possible suspects: camereas, tracking devices
